Research

The Department of Anaesthesiology (University Malaya) set the goal to grow in research, to enhance the fundamental and clinical knowledge, as well as quality improvement in our service. Over the years, we saw the growth of our department supporting the expanding knowledge in perioperative care and critical care.

The research in our department covers a diverse specialties: Pain, paediatric, airway, critical care, education, outcome, and database research. In addition to conducting basic pharmacokinetic studies, prospective observational or interventional research, we also collaborate with international centres in conducting large trials.

Besides producing research published in international journals, we encourage the research culture among the trainees and faculty by providing supervision support, teaching, and training. We are committed to advance our research in the future in our department, as well as nationally.
