Children are not small adults. This is the first rule that all anaesthesiologist’s learn when performing Paediatric anaesthesia. This adage holds true as the Paediatric Anaesthesia Unit provides the best care for our patients ranging from the premature to the adolescent, from the well to those with multiple congenital conditions and comorbidities.
Since the incorporation of the unit under (first paeds anaes in UM) in (year), we have grown by leaps and bounds and now consist of 2 consultants and 3 subspeciality trainees guiding the many Master of Anaesthesiology trainees in the intricacies of providing care for the most vulnerable of patients.
We provide anaesthetic services and support to all specialties and subspecialities in UMMC. As shown below, the services provided are key to ensuring that all children undergoing procedures are given the best possible care.
