ASSOC PROF DR LOH PUI SAN

Associate Prof Dr Loh Pui San is a Senior Consultant and Lecturer in University Malaya Medical Centre since 2011 and she heads the Transplant Anaesthesia Unit for both Renal and Liver Transplantation in her institution. In the last few years, she has contributed tremendously in building the transplant programme together with the surgeons to form the pioneer group of multidisciplinary clinicians for living related liver transplantation in Malaysia.

First trained in Masters of Anaesthesiology, she then worked in Australia for nearly 2 years to fulfil her Fellowship for FANZCA. In 2017, Dr Loh was selected for Transplant Fellowship in Cambridge, UK under the prestigious Commonwealth Medical Award. Her other special interests include anaesthesia for bariatric surgery, in which she trained in Taiwan for, and Geriatric Anaesthesia which constitutes her main research work especially in neurocognitive disorders.

Dr Loh collaborates widely with international investigators and has published many papers on perioperative care in the elderly surgical population. An avid speaker who has presented in both local and international conferences, she hopes to inspire improvement and updated anaesthetic care for all our older patients

Besides her professional duties, Dr Loh is a keen enthusiast in keeping life fit, healthy and happy with a balance for both work and family.
